About Me

Jeanette K. Mitchell, MD

Dr. Mitchell was born and raised in the Conejo Valley. She is a graduate of Westlake High School who went on to complete her education at Stanford University (undergraduate), University of California, Irvine School of Medicine (MD degree), and University of California, San Francisco (Dermatology Residency). During that time she founded the National Melanoma Awareness Project, contributed over a dozen scientific publications, and was honored by the American Academy of Dermatology with the AAD Presidents Gold level Volunteer Service Award and the AAD Members Making a Difference Award.

Dr. Mitchell was thrilled to return to her hometown to begin her private practice as a member of Conejo Dermatology in 2011. She most enjoys spending time with her husband and being the mother of 3 awesome children.

Dr. Mitchell's passions are surgical and medical dermatology with emphasis on care of skin cancers. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, a Founding Member of the American Board of Medical Specialties, and is Board Certified in both Dermatology and Mohs Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery. She is also certified in use of Superficial Radiation Therapy for treatment of skin cancers where appropriate.
